Senior "K"

When we are gearing up in the days before a photo shoot, you can usually hear us saying "as long as it's not raining, we'll be fine!"  Well, I now will add to that "...and the wind is not blowing like a typhoon!"  We had quite the windy day for "K's" senior photos, but she was such a great sport!  We managed to a get a few in the open field where her hair was not completely covering her face, but then we headed down to one of our favorite spots by the river and had a great rest of her shoot!  Thanks for being so fun to work with "K" and letting us capture this "once in a lifetime" time for you :)  Oh, and the ones with your sister...LOVE!  I hope you like them too!

Have you seen this post before...

I feel like I've written this post 1/2 a dozen times before. You know the one.  Where I tell you how busy we've been and make an excuse why we haven't blogged forever.  But really, we have been crazy busy getting some fabulous family photos while there were still leaves and color on the trees.  Sorry for being absent for so long and not satiating your appetite for sneak peeks.  We had an amazing day of mini-sessions last Saturday and hopefully those sneak peeks will be up soon.  We are still drowning in all the amazing images we caught that day...20+ families worth!
Here are two recent sessions.  "C" (remember him), had his big 1st birthday and it was so wonderful to see him again.  The last time I had seen him, he was just but a few days old.  And "J", stunning senior!  She rocked her session and we got some beautiful photos of her.

Senior "B"

We had a perfect day for shooting a couple weeks ago and had a great time with this senior!  We love shooting seniors for a lot of reasons...they do what we ask, they don't run away from the camera, and we get to capture a very important milestone in their lives!  Thanks, "B" for being such a great client and for allowing us to capture you as you start your senior year!

Hopefully they've learned to share by now...

Get ready for some serious Senior goodness.  They have to share this blog posting but I'm hoping they'll be okay with it.  We've had some amazing sessions the past week or so, and just love the uniqueness of all the seniors we've had the opportunity to photograph.  We've done everything from being serenaded while we were photographing, tromping through open mosquito-infested fields to get that perfect shot, and exploring Minneapolis alleyways and scenery.  

"K"

Exploring new areas is always fun, so when this senior wanted a waterfall as part of her photos, there really was only one place to go!  We headed down to Minnehaha Falls and it was just the perfect night for her session.  The weather was great, the sunset was even better, and the pictures were wonderful!  Thanks for letting us capture this exciting time for you, "K"!  Hopefully this little peek is worth the wait! :)

Sunset beauty...

Well if there is one positive thing to this hot, sunny weather is that we have been getting lovely sunsets for so many of our sessions lately!  "C" is just about to start her senior year and is such a beauty both inside and out.  She had this vision of being in a field for her pictures...combine that with my vision of throwing a random big chair in the middle of an open field and both of us got just what we wanted (minus the 10,000 mosquito bites along the way)!  Nothing says you live in MN like having mosquito bites on your arms in your senior pictures :)  (don't worry...we'll fix any we see!) :)  Thanks again, "C" for making it such a fun session for me and letting us capture this fun, exciting time in your life!

Senior "L"

This beautiful Centennial senior is a daughter of one of my co-workers (at my "real" job :).  "L"  wasn't hard to photograph, that's for sure.  Just a natural in front of the camera. "L"

"L" is one of our seniors who just graduated!  So a big CONGRATS goes out to her!  We headed down to one of our favorite spots for her shoot and had a beautiful day...a little warm and humid so we all had a nice glow to us by the end!  She was a natural in front of the camera and we couldn't get enough of her gorgeous eyes and beautiful smile!  We hope you have a great summer before you head off to college in the fall!  Thanks for letting us capture this fun time in your life!

A lesson in "warm light"...

 Had a great session with soon to be graduated "D".  His friend came along for the session so I promptly put him to work.  I'm pretty sure the 2 of them are probably still making fun of me for what a 30 year old dork I am.  That's okay, I'm completely  mostly comfortable with how out of touch I am these days.  

 Love this buddy picture and "C" in action as my assistant.  He got a lesson on using the reflector and what the different sides were for, creating warm and cool lighting effects.  Keep it "warm" C!

"D"

Had a fun afternoon with "D" for his senior portraits.  He's such a wonderful guy and it's been fun watching him grow up over the past few years.  I've known his family for quite a while now and let me tell you they are a pleasure to know!  Secret's is out "D" you can let you family in on the fun afternoon we had :)
